Hi there
Anyone got any ideas / examples of how much you are paying for 'telemarketing' leads. And are payments tiered depending on what is achieved?
For example:
Payment for getting an appointment?
Payment only when the appointment is verified as a quality lead?
If new business is generated - a commission on that?
I'd appreciate any feedback.
Many thanks
Michelle

You need to speak to a few comm based people, they will all work differently, so see what suits best. I will say one thing though...Good Luck!!!

Hi Michelle
It's one of those areas that can vary considerably.
"Qualified leads" will vary by qualification criteria according to clients needs and relevance of the leads. For mobile phone leads this may be something along the lines of 1) due for renewal in 4 months 2) number of handsets 3) mobile network 4) wants a call back to quote or for accountants it may be 1) willing to change in next 2 months 2) year end accounts, self assessment and payroll. Hope that gives some examples.
The price per lead is usually calculated approximately based around how many leads the TM can get on average per hour. They may give a price based on gut feel or may arrive at their price through a paid hourly rate trial.
The price per appointment can also vary depending on how many can be booked on average per hour. To give you an indication my prices range from £50 to £1500. It is usually on a per-attended-appointment basis
Commission only usually relates to the actual amount the client bills from a telemarketing lead or it can be that the telesales person actually closes/sells it over the phone getting an actual order and possibly even processing the payment. These commission values vary quite a bit too say from 5% - 50%
Quite a bit of telemarketing is also done to generate pipeline for the client to perform other marketing activities but normally on a different pay structure.
Hope that helps a bit :)
