Landline number over a voip line.

I have clients in both the US and UK, and would like them to be able to call a number local to them.

At the moment I have my voip line that I have forward to my mobile when I am out so I get 24/7 coverage.

Is it possible to do this?

did not think to look at Skype to be honest as I already have a voip line that I use from day to day, and the cost of forwarding it to my mobile/cell phone would surly mount up?

You can have not only UK regional numbers but other countries as well. I am currently arranging a UK based Pakistani Travel agent to have a Pakistan phone number ring at their Uk Office via VOIP.

Yes it's possible but some countries are easier than others. It's easier for a US company to get UK numbers than vice-versa. Some UK companies offer numbers in other countries - including us - but you have to be very careful because many countries have laws preventing foreign ownership of numbers and they can be removed at any time.

Additionally, they can be very poor quality for a variety of reasons.

As for us, we offer numbers in several countries but we only have freephone numbers in the US - not geographic. Our numbers are secure and high quality E1 connection ie they do not use the internet. If that's any use, there's information here:

Otherwise, if you just need a simple service ie no PBX services like extensions or call Qs, have a look a Vonage which operates in both US and UK
