Sub Domains

Can someone explain to me how sub domains work, how you set them up, advantages and whether they can be pointed to another site on the net, whilst still appearing to be on your own website?

a sub domain for yourself would be something like www.info.fridayteam.com

you can point a sub domain anywhere you want to or use it as a website in its own right.

depending upon your host a sub domain offers all the same services as your primary domain like ftp, email, hosting,

a good use is if you have multiple services than you want to keep seperate yet keeping together if you know what i mean

each of your services can have its own mini site whilst still keeping the branding and look of your main site

i use them quite a lot. speak to your isp / website host about setting them up
