View Full Version : Interspire Development Work
Hi
After almost six months of searching I think I have found all the functionality I need in Interspire for our ecommerce needs.
Most of the products we offer require the customer to input their own engraving when adding the product to the cart.
Interspire has the facility for customers to be able to do this, however, it would need a tweak to the way their custom fields work so that I am able to limit how many characters a customer can input into each field.
Because of the variety of products we offer, we would need to have the option to alter the character amount ourselves as we currently do with ekm.
Is there anybody on here that is able to provide this development work that would be willing to give me a quote.
Many thanks.

Are you the same lady I spoke to on the phone yesterday? The one making quite a large move shortly?

Hi Phil
Yes I am and thank you so much for the phone call, it was very in(ter)spiring. Had a good play with the software and it does absolutely everything except stop people putting war and peace in the custom fields, if I can crack that then it looks like something I can work with.
Thank you so much again for your time and sorry I think I called you Paul all the way through our conversation as well didn't I?

Hi ICE Gems,
I too went from EKM to interspire and can highly recommend it, I was thinking of magento also but went with Interspire and am very pleased.
I have 1 store that uses it and the 2nd store will be going live in a few weeks.
I used nublue.co.uk for the hosting and found Paul their very helpful.
I am currently developing a template for the 2nd store.
Please PM for any advise you require from going to EKM to Interspire I will be glad to help.

Hi Ice Gems,
We could certainly look at this for you. We are the UK's Interspire channel partner and can give you discounted rates on the Interspire prices for the product itself too. Please give our hosting team a call if your interested and they can discuss the options with you.
Cheers

Hi
I spoke to Paul (I think) at NuBlue earlier in the week and unfortunately you can't do the development work, although I believe he said he would post on the developers forum for me.
If we are able to get this work done, I was going to give you a call back anyway to discuss hosting and purchasing the software from you too (especially if you are offering a discount lol).
Many thanks
Nadine

Could you give a couple of examples of how you would see this working as I'm still not 100% sure I understand the process you're wanting to achieve.

Ok... forget the above request. Between the interspire thread on this and a couple of educated guesses based on your existing cart I have worked out a solution.
I've not coded it yet but have a pretty good idea of how it would work.. however I do not have access to the 5.x version of ISC so I would need to check the edits required against that as I assume that's the version you'd require.
The only other issue is that Interspire updates and upgrades tend to overwrite everything so the modification would need to be re-applied after each update.
Hi
I've sent you a PM.
Many thanks for looking at this for me.
