Looking for some cheap quotes to take away cardboard boxes on a regular basis, although I think as I pay business rates the council should do this for free to help recycling as I have yet to discover what I am actually paying business rates for? They don't even even clean the street outside have to do it myself!

The council here have such a backlog of cardboard they have it stored in various warehouses around the city, although they think its not common knowledge. They are avoiding landfill for some reason.

Can't offer any names, but can suggest an alternative...

At my last paid place of employment, we used to get through a fair amount of cardboard, for which we had to pay a small fortune to get removed by a recycling compant.

Talking to the ANC driver one evening, I discovered that the owner of a local car part factory was getting through a stack of cardboard which he was having to purchase second hand.

Cutting a long story short, the ANC man used to take our cardboard away on a daily basis and drop it at his next stop, which happened to be the parts manufacturer.

We lost our card for nothing, driver earned a drink from the car parts man, car parts man got free cardboard and the planet continued to live;)

Win win you might say:)

Easiest way is to put a sign in your window saying card board boxes available free.

People always need them for moving house and moving stuff.

In our old village shop people came in every day asking if we could spare any. They were all taken away with no effort to us at all.

Freecycle is also an excellent option. But agree with Mister B. When we were selling online in years gone by we used to take all the cardboard boxes from the nearby shoe factory. If your boxes are big, then there will be ebay sellers etc out there queuing up for them.

I tried freeceycle a few times but got let down, people not always turning up, etc. I also tried the council as they offer this service, but couldn't get through to talk to anyone. In the end I've gone with a local company, they collect cardboard and also plastic. I have a 1100 bin outside emptied every week.

Waste removal is a nightmare.

We were told that we faced heavy fines if we couldn't prove that our waste was removed by a licensed carrier.

Thankfully we don't produce much waste!
