im pretty chuffed with myself and have to tell someone who will appreciate what it is..
I now have a Magento import script that can create products, categories, attribute sets and attributes and it is running (locally on my laptop) at 0.13 seconds per product..
anyone who has tried to use Magento's built in product import functionality will know that the best you can hope for is 1 product per second if that, and that's not including a bunch of that functionality.
its written as a totally separate entity to the magento codebase, however it is zend framework based OO php.
