View Full Version : Is this a new idea and any good?

I've been playing around with a new idea similar to banner advertising
but with a bit more added.
http://www.uksmallbusinessdirectory.co.uk/slideshow-advertising/

The idea will be to have a number of different themed slideshows
i.e.
one for business services, one for shopping, one for finance, one for
leisure, one for crafts, etc. and then add the slideshows to relevant
pages within relevant sites.

Where it difers from normal banner ads is the fact the images are a lot
bigger and the user can interact with them.
i.e.
stop the slideshow, pause by hovering over, or go through them numerically.

Any comments appreciated

It looks okay, but it's certainly not a new thing. I have a slideshow tool as part of Microsoft Windows, so no way is this new. There are a ton of sites that use this already.

No point in copying stuff that already exists and built by companies like Microsoft. I suppose you could expand what you have, but would it still be unique afterwards, probably not.

LOL, I'm not talking about the slideshow, just the fact of combining it
with adverts which can be controlled by the end user.
Wish I had invented a slideshow feature :)

This still won't work. It's not cutting edge or unique enough to pull advertisers in.

Don't forget you will be selling this to real advertisers - don't give them the opportunity to laugh at you.

No-one looks at banner ads anyway so why would I want to 'interact' with them?
And anyway ... It's not new or unique enough to make any difference.
