I'm not sure I fully understand your question. When you say "Merchant Account" are you referring to the Internet Merchant Account (IMA) you have with a financial institution?

Most Payment Service Providers (PSPs) provide two methods of integrating to them

Hosted Payments Page
XML API

With the host payments page your customer will enter their cardholder details on a secure site hosted by the PSP. With the XML API your customer will enter their cardholder details on your site and you will send them to the PSP.

This Online Payment Processing Guide (http://www.webpayments.ie/web-payments/how-do-i-setup-online-payments) will explain these concepts in more detail. Then I would suggest you find out what PSPs are integrated to the financial institution you have your IMA with. If you ask the financial institution they should be able to to provide you with a list.

So you have 2 options

Use a payments bureau such as Paypal, nochex etc. (http://www.webpayments.ie/web-payments/compare-the-providers)

Get an Internet Merchant Account and use a Payments Service Provider such as Realex or Protx.

Is your business new or do you have a history of trading online?

Merchant accounts don't do what your after, all a merchant account is, is a place where the money is directed to end up in your bank account (roughly), you want a gateway service, something like sage pay (formerly protx) which does allow to to take payments with a merchant account an not leave the web site.

http://www.sagepay.co.uk/integrating_sagepay.html

And click the direct tab.

Good Luck

nochex only take payment on their own secure site, customers will automatically transfer to their site for paymaent and then back to you again. You can customisw their payment pages a little with your colour scheme and have your logo on there.

Paypal is exactlythe same.

Paypal Pro lets you use your own payment pages on your own site.

All of the above are payment services that you can use without the need for a) a business bank account and b) an internet merchant account. Easy to set up, easy to get an account but more expensive.

Cheaper is using a payment processor like worldpay, protx, 2co ect. but you will need a business bank account and an internet merchant account as well. A business bank account is easy enough to get but the internet merchant account could be tricky. For that the banks may want a proven trading history and a good credit rating.

Payment providers don't, like paypal and nochex and google checkout

There are systems like godaddy merchant account and it seems Netbanx as well, which offer a payment system which does what you want.

But the best and cheapest way to do it is get a payment gateway system like sage page and a merchant account like streamline and set them up.But you also need to get the terminalogy right to make sure you get the right answer to the question

Hi,

PayPal will allow you to create your own payment pages as they have several API's which allow you to interact with their payment service. You could use their Direct Payment and PayPal Express Checkout API's.

PayPal Direct Payment lets you design and host your own checkout pages, you keep your customers on your site instead of having them pay on PayPal; PayPal remains invisible. PayPal authorises transactions in a real-time process.

Thanks shopintegrator. First good answer.

Do you know if any other UK based payment processor such as nochex etc. Allow that?

Regards.

Hi nnnbusiness,

Do you know if any other UK based payment processor such as nochex etc. Allow that?

Sorry, I don't know about the others. Our needs have so far been to connect and interact with the PayPal payment gateway from our service, we haven't branched out into connecting it to other payment gateways at this point in time.

Hi there

I was just wondering how customised you needed your payment pages to be. PayPoint.net’s Fast Track package includes an Internet Merchant Account and payment gateway. Your payment pages are co-branded – your logo and the PayPoint.net logo – and hosted on the PayPoint.net secure server.

If you have already secured an Internet Merchant Account, PayPoint.net’s Professional payment gateway package allows you to build your own applications around our API for both SOAP and XML-RPC, customise and host your own payment pages. Our Professional package is currently 50% off monthly fees for the first three months and you can find out more about it at
(3ws)paypoint.net/solutions/payment-gateway/professional/

One of the issues that you should bear in mind, however, is the change in the requirements around PCI Compliance. Following changes to Visa’s Account Information Security Programme, from 1st October 2009 all merchants processing less than 1 million transactions annually (Level 2, 3 and 4) must process via a PCI DSS certified provider or provide certification of their own PCI DSS compliance to their acquirer. Consequently, a number of our merchants are looking to switch their payment pages to one of our hosted solutions. We have a guide on getting PCI Compliant on our website at
(3ws)paypoint.net/online-payment-guides/getting-pci-compliant

Hope that helps! Feel free to get in contact if you have any queries at all.

The very best of luck with your business!

OP,

Iridium Corporation allow you to host your own payment pages. They call it inline processing I think, ie the consumer does not leave your site.

They are London based so will work with all local banks.

WorldPay (now RBS WorldPay) allow customisation of their payment pages, but also something more customised. They refer to it as their 'HTML integration method'. I don't know whether it will meet your needs as I haven't used it, but thought I'd mention it so you can follow it up if you wish.
