I recently launched a new concept in offering senior Director level expertise to buinesses that cannot afford this on a full time basis. I believe there are many smaller businesses out there that need the expertise of a senior level Sales, HR or Finance Director, often acting as a mentor as well as being hands on in the role.
This isn't interim - where someone often parachutes in because there's a problem, and it's not a consultant, who often makes recommendations and then leaves others to implement.
My business model is based on getting results for businesses not just charging high day rates. So I split my normal day rate in half and charge this amount as a retainer. The balance is due in stages depending on achieving gateways which I set with the client beforehand. That way, the goals are clear, so avoiding any misunderstanding later on.
I already have a couple of assignments. I would welcome any thoughts - business enquiries welcome as well as interested 'Directors'!
