Hi everyone,
We're just in the process of launching a UK print franchise. The system is just days away from completion. And we're looking for potential franchisees.
Please see:

Please reply to this thread with any questions.. or follow the site to sign up.
This is a brilliant business opportunity for graphic designs and print brokers.
Thanks

Really pleased with the response so far. This really is a brilliant business opportunity.
What we are doing is effectively providing entrepreneurs with a fully functioning micro business. The system is fully automated, so all that the franchisees have to do is attract sales (although the sites are fully SEO'd so sales come to them too) and keep the customers happy! Franchisees have no limit to how profitable their micro businesses can be, as we allow full pricing control.
We provide full set up support and marketing support to all franchisees so don't be put off if you're new to the web and marketing.
Please pm if anyone is interested.

I've sent a message via the contact box on the site ... how important is prior knowledge / experience of graphic designs & print brokers?

I will reply to your query on here to allow others to get a better understanding of the system.
To benefit fully from the system we require franchisees to have at least 4 abilities: Basic Graphic design, Basic Marketing, Very basic print knowledge, and sales skills.
Therefore the system its self doesn't really cater for people without a little bit of experience. When developing we seriously considered a system that allowed people with no knowledge of anything print to just simple promote the site and make money. But this goes against our plans for growth and we would worry that parts of the business would stagnate.
Having people with experience selling print is a major factor in growing the core business and micro businesses.
Does this make sense?
thanks

Yes it does make perfect sense, however if the site is fully automated then is this knowledge required from a moral or practical sense?

Andy
Practical sense, franchisees are effectively running there own print business, where we fulfill the print orders for them. So franchisees must have minimal print & design knowledge to answer questions & queries customers may have.
I.e the system is fully automated from P.O.S to delivery of print.
thanks

Right I understand, so if I had somebody in my team who could tick these boxes then we might be able to do business?

Yes of course we can. The system isn't quite finished, but what I've done is all inquiries received today i've added to a private mailing list. Of which we will email updates over the next week or two.
The entire system is technically ready to go (give or take a few small bugs being fixed), we're just finalising pricing, default content, and layouts, business structure and franchisee welcome packs.
The system is plug n play, so its very much ready to go as soon as its ready.
Thank you!

This is an ideal business opportunity for anyone with a good eye for design and you MUST be honest with yourself about this. Almost everyone you meet will think they can design a good looking advert or letter heading, but most wouldn't come up with anything even half decent. That's why the services of a good desktop publisher can be so much in demand.
In 17 days this free Start a Graphic Design or Graphic Design Business Course will show you how to evaluate your skills and expertise, establish yourself as a legitimate business, find clients, and do what it takes to start making money doing something you enjoy — freelance Graphic Design and graphic design.

is this a service you offer? Could be good for people who don't know the print business and but see a good business opportunity?
We could refer each other to each other if you get me?
Thanks

Looks a good opertunity to expand your business and get people who want to get into the print business or extend a current business to offer it but not have the hassle of printing and posting.
Are the trade prices on the demo the prices when live?

Haha, I know its a bit extreme 17 days, but if people can learn the basics of graphic design and print.. then they could theoretically run a reseller site.
We are really looking for more experienced designers to take on a site, but if someone is really sales driven and would work hard at selling print we'd still be interested (as long as they had some graphic design know how, to provide good customer service to their customers).
I must point out that resellers don't have to offer design as part of their service, this is an added extra.
Does this make sense?? :)

No the trade prices are only available to resellers. We can tell you though that the prices on our demo site are 15-20% higher than trade prices. And they are still some of the best prices in the UK, and substantially cheaper than high street competition.
Thanks :)

NOOOOOOOOOOO :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
If you had seen some of the jobs we have had to put right from so called professional designers then you wouldn't be chasing people with no experience of design. Fine if they don't want to design and look to farm out the service but to market yourself as a designer when you have had no training, no experience and very little skill makes my blood boil.

I completely agree with you mate.
We don't want inexperienced designers offering design, and trust me if this happens resellers will be removed from the system.
As a business we cannot afford to have our resellers offering shady design work to customers and damaging the reputation of the reseller site in that area.
The crash course in design will give people basic design and print knowledge so they can deal with enquiries from customers.
Thanks!

I did leave my details 3 days ago but have had no reply - I suppose that must mean that the north east area (Sunderland) is covered already?
Rather than pay the yearly fee which in essence gives me access to a website - what's to stop me building my own brand and site then giving you my print orders - would a discount still be forthcoming?
Also on your Liverpool site the prices seem very high - are they real prices or just indicative?

If you are interested in a free print reseller site, then the original company who developed the idea are now offering white label print websites, http://www.sunderlandprint.com/ is available, get in touch via www.printresellerscheme.co.uk (http://www.printresellerscheme.co.uk)
So where's this website then?
