Dear Sir/Ma’am

Greetings from Economic Rural Development Society (ERDS)!

We take this opportunity to introduce ERDS. It is a grass root level organisation working in 4 districts of West Bengal, India. It emerged in the year 1982. It has focused on Child Education, Care for the vulnerable elderly persons, Women empowerment through SHG, Campaign against Child Trafficking and Skill development training.

We are trying to raise funds to impart education to the disadvantaged children both in rural and urban areas. The disadvantage children owing to lack of financial resources are not able to access education thereby forced to remain on the sidelines.

Hence to obviate this lacuna we have taken the opportunity to approach you to lend bit of your resources for the education of a disadvantage child. So we appeal to you donate whatever you can to plant a smile on the lips of a disadvantage child who is languishing for want of opportunity and resource.

If you have any queries, please feel free to get back to us.

Best Regards
Sri Madhu Basu

Having been to India many many times, the country has a special place in my heart. To help the OP, I'm providing a link (http://www.erds.org/) to the website of his organisation. Personally, I have sponsored the education and welfare of downtrodden children in India (not with this organisation but with another) and have seen firsthand the impact it can have not only on the child's life but also on their family's lives.
