Hi

Is something going on with Yahoo - I have noticed a marked decrease in visitors today coming in from yahoo, looked into my stats and some of my favourite keywords are now on page 2 instead of at the #1 spot. Have yahoo changed something??? as I have had months of stability on positions. This is causing a major impact. I need to do some emergency SEO to help the pages get back up.

Cheers

Loads of people are suffering the same thing at the moment, I think it's too early to say if it is going to be a permanent change or if it is just yahoo updating.

Cheers for the reply, I am crossing everything that things will settle out a bit, everything seems a touch jumpy at the moment. An hour ago my site was page 2 for the term 'high interest savings', now it is in sixth place. See what happens I guess, then try and deal with it.

Cheers

You're welcome, if you want to keep a specific eye on what is happening with yahoo here is a good place.

Search engines are becoming a little to competitve in my view, there always changing the way they rank sites.

Still #1 and #2 for our target term (ebusiness cumbria). If they are changing the algorithm, we're still happy with the results.

the search engines evolving all the time just means we have to do the same. If they do change an algorithm then we are going to have to adapt, as every key search term also has a high level of competition, why shouldn't the engines compete?

Just my thoughts!!! If it means that they can return a better service on the whole then I am all for it.

I have all sorts of problems with getting ranked on google but have excellent rankings on Yahoo and MSN without really doing anything special!

Me too - great on Yahoo and MSN but not so great on Google. We're well aware of the problem though... the much sought after inbound links!

I know what you mean,

I have 3000 on Yahoo and only 30 on Google!
