Afternoon all,

So I have my first press release written and ready to go...

I know to send it to the local newspapers and magazines (of which there are 4 or 5) and also to a couple of prominent local websites.

I will also be distributing it on the web for those all important inbound links and obviously I will be posting it on here!

Is there anybody else I should be sending it to though? Is there a central resource containing a list of people in my area that I can tap into?

Any ideas?

Thanks Rob, I did do a search and found the thread you've quoted, hence me saying it was going to be distributed on the web...

What I was really after was some help with the below:

Is there anybody else I should be sending it to though? Is there a central resource containing a list of people in my area that I can tap into?

Just wondered if there was some on-line resource that some PR guru knew about that maybe I didn't.

Thanks for your help anyway,

Keir

Hi Keirms

Just remember to get your key words right i.e. UK, United Kingdom etc.

If you get this wrong site like prleap will not work.

Your release will be searchable on the web for a long time. Make sure it's up to scratch editorially and it's in the correct format. I'd advise against substituting good and relevant copy for keywords (which applies to professional SEO generally). Be careful where you post it - many free sites, while they might be good for traffic, are not considered credible sources by journalists (media coverage being the point of your press announcement), and they will come up in future searches.

Just so that you know the keywords do NOT go into the main text. These are SEPERATE key words that are entered into a separate box so that that people can find the release.

Sorry for any confusion.
