Hi,

We have just built a new online store using X-cart 4.2 and for UK Dog Products


The main brief of the project was to transfer the store owners EROL5 built store into X-cart 4.2. The design element involved reskining the vanilla template provided by xcart thus reducing the build costs.

Even though the design brief was limited we still managed to built an eye catching store.

Nice site, but a couple of issues...

The search bar is overlapping your top menu a bit and the sidebars aren't quite centered.

The main core of the project was to develop a migration tool to transfer a access database to a mysql database.

This is where most of the budget and work was done.

The design was done this way to allow us to build extra sites with a subset of the products for minimum cost. The extra sites will be used to target specific shoppers and allow the company to get as many links on the first page of google for the keywords they require.

At the end of the day it has to be cost effective.

How does X-cart compare to EROL 5?
I've no connection or experience of either, although I believe Erol is British.
