Hope you dont mind me asking this question.... I qualified as an AAT back in 1991 and left working full time for a firm of accountants (where I was senior audit clerk) in 1992 to go freelance and subcontract to various firms. After my first son was born I decided to concentrate more on providing bookkeeping services and really only worked enough to make sure the bills were paid.. although I hate to admit it, I was actually relying on my husbands wages. Now I have decided that I want to build up my practice and work longer hours and thus earn more money, but my dilemma is.. should i apply for reinstatment with the AAT.
I am currently a member of the ICB and studying for my payroll diploma, and if needs be, would look into studying taxation as that is an area I am not that skilled in.
Does anyone see any benefit in AAT reinstatement in the current climate and do qualified ie ACA or ACCA think of the AAT as adequate grounding for providing self employed people with accounting advice etc, or would I be better in expanding just bookkeeping?
Sorry this is long winded, but I really dont know which would be the best direction to go in and I have no one else to ask..:)
