Hi all,
I am new to site and really just starting out in business for myself in Ayrshire. I have put more details on the Scotland Regional forum, but it seems the post needs to be moderated first so it hasn't appeared yet.
Previously I held IT and Systems Manager positions with national IFAs headquartered in Glasgow but the current state of finance thse days lead to a severe downturn in business and unfortunately I was made redundant.
So now I am trying to go it alone and while I am very comfortable with my technical ability and I understand a little about advertising and marketing I am no salesman and I think I may well struggle because of this. I am used to dealing external suppliers and internal staff at all levels but cold calling or canvassing I have no experience of.
Is there anyway I can get around this given I have no budget to hire sales staff at the moment? Any tips, tricks or any other help available that I could use to become a salesman, never mind a better one?
Thanks in advance,
Campbell
