I used to have a page rank on my forum of 4 but in the last month it has suddenly dropped to 2! Google has been on there indexing and my home page is still 4 (I havent made any changes to forum) so what could have caused this?

Ravenfire,
Have a look here: http://www.google.com/technology/
You may or maynot already have read it..
But it might explain a bit (e.g. someone has stopped linking to you maybe?)
Yet another good reason for people to join the Great UKBF Link Exchange (I know you already have Ravenfire)

Hi Rob
Thanks for your reply.
I link with everyone through my main link though and my forums is a /forums extension of that link so wouldnt my main link have dropped in page rank as well?

Google tweaks its ranking algorithm all the time so when an update takes place a sites rage rank statistics can go up and down.

Was it about 2 - 3 months ago when loads of sites that previously had good rankings sudenly went to 0, lots of unhappy people.........

We had exactly the same problem with another website that we have, for about 12 months we were ranked Number 1 on Google for a certain Search Term, about 2 months ago we stopped coming up No 1 and came up on and around page 10 instead. Not a happy bunny.
Apparently Google changed their listing criteria recently, time to play catch up and redo my SEO again.

I have a google tool bar and it shows the page ranks on there for each site and each page within that site

ebonybailey: Yes you are correct, to check your page rank take a look at:-

This one is better, it shows how many links you have coming back to your site and it tries to predict your page rank at the next Google update.
