Anyone ever had any experience or knowledge on wholesale of seafood (lobster, king prawn etc) throughout the UK? Need to explore the different levels i.e. Supermarkets, restaurant distributors, auctions. I know very little on this so even the basics might help.

Cheers

I have a contact in Florida who supplies a few euro countries but not yet the UK with things like lobster, crab, king prawn etc.
Just looking for what is probably the most realistic route to market.

I think you'll struggle to find a member with specific knowledge on such a specialised field, why not reverse the plan of action by asking the buyers whom they use at the moment and then make a few calls to them posing as a potential client and see what information they may reveal?

Hard market that I would imagine due to the perishable nature of the product, good luck though. :)

My line of thinking would but to contact companies in the trade around well known fishing ports and markets - Grimsby and Billingsley for example - and see what info you can obtain there.
