Have you found yourself suddenly producing Hazardous waste due to the changes in legislation on July 16th?

Most, if not all have!

Unsure of what to do and how to cope?

Still not sure if it affects you?

Send me an email at;

pdoran@axionwaste.co.uk

We operate the largest Hazardous waste management facility in the UK, operating under a PPC permit. One of the first of its kind in the UK.

Hi Paul, Welcome to the forum.

It's good to see you're offering waste management solutions over in the UK. My background is waste management too, I've got a couple of engineering degrees in it, and used to be a LF regulator so I understand the kind of field you're working in.

Whenever I visit the UK or anywhere on holiday in fact, I seem to end up 'visiting' the landfills and get a bit excited when I spot one on the horizon..... maybe I'm a LF tourist?!

But erm, enough odd info about me! Enjoy the forum, and good luck in the WM business.

This is real good timing, we have been working exceptionally hard to get dentists to comply with these new regulations as of 15th July with regards to the disposal of waste amalgam in the drains.

I need to verify EXACTLY what is required in terms of Annex D of the regulations which refer to the Dental Surgeries. There is no succinct information of the type of amalgam separation that is required and to what extent, i.e. percentage removal required, who is affected by the regulation and further information on removal facilities.

There are many companies offering amalgam separation and we are really concerned that they can get away with what they class as separation, so would like to create a benchmark for the supply into the U.K market.

This probably bores most of you, but we are signing people up daily with orders averaging £1500.00.

Any advice or information you could point in my direction???
