Hi all
Im a recently qualified bookkeeper and I need some advice, if someone would be so kind as to help me.

I need to query a clients PAYE coding for the year. I know I can submit a 64-8 for authorisation, and tick the box marked 'Individual Tax affairs', but is there no way I can do this online?

I know I could request authorisation for Self Assessment online for him, but I do not have a UTR which is required, and as far as I was aware UTR are issued when someone registers for self-employment.

Any help would be appreciated
Alison

yes - you can register on line to get approval for self assessment and then set up the 64-8s on line:

thanks, but I have already registered as an agent online. My query is that I require a UTR to gain authorisation for an individual SA, and since he does not complete an SA, would he have a UTR?

no he won't - complete a paper 64-8 and tick the box saying UTR not issued
