Sorry not sure which section to put this in. I was just wondering what everyone uses for newsletters?

I currently have an IPB forum on my account and I use the bulk mail for my newsletters. It does take HMTL but IMO is a bit limited. I can however export the email addresses so I am looking for something that offers a bit more.

Any suggestions or recommendations please?

Thanks

Toni

We just tend to use our newsletter module - but to be honest there are so many scripts to do this finding something shouldn't be hard.

Hello again Toni!

I was recommended dotmailer.co.uk or constantcontact.com.

I as bitsnstuff mentioned above use Constant Contact and find it excellent.

Had a look at these and the only problem is that because I have an ever expanding site, and already way over 2,000 subscribers to the newsletter, it will be expensive for me, particularly as I send 2 newsletters a month.

Is there a better way to do it?

I created a script that sends a html file to a list of emails that I have within a word doc. £0 cost except my time in creating the html newsletter :) We send out 5 different newsletters a month so it has to run smoothly :)

I use constant contact too. I was able to set up everything myself, and create a newsletter that looked very professional, and included various images and my logo etc. And once set up, it's easy to 'clone' and create further newsletters.

While we're on the subject of newsletter, does anyone know which words to avoid in a newsletter to help prevent it being deemed as spam in the receivers e-mail account?

I need to announce the winners from a free draw, but I'm sure the words 'winner' and 'free' will be an instant spam red flag.

I sure would appreciate your help on this one. Thanks.
