I can hear all of you designers out there jumping to type 'YES, Of course!' so let me explain..
My 'logo' at the moment is basically my company name in a nice exclusive font. But I would like something with a bit more impact that is immediately identifiable. A butterfly is my unofficial logo at the moment and pops up here and there. Blue and silver are my colours.
If anyone has a strong opinion, and/ or ideas, please let me know.

A butterfly wearing jewellery? :) Maybe the butterfly could be replaced by a gem-studded broach in the shape of a butterfly, in blue gems and a silver frame?

Hi Angel,

I like your logo, I think it has a certain elegance to it. In my humble opinion though, I think logos stand out not for their impact on the eye but more in the subconscious though long term exposure.

Take Marks & Spencer or the Co-op - instantly recognisable more because they've been with us for years and not totally due to their advertising. I think if you have an established business, changing the logo might not be the best idea - unless of course you poll your customers and see what they think.

I still like your current logo so good luck on whatever you decide.

A butterfly wearing jewellery? :)

LOL. I am thinking more along the lines of a bit of line art. Say an outline of a butterfly, like the one seen on this card by the wonderful Twenty-Seven.

Then maybe on a more serious note, how about a very simple outline of a butterfly, in one or more colours (with no colour fill)? Jewellery is often quite small-framed; look at this picture on your website;

and think of converting it into a simple butterfly design. The whole "simple yet elegant" design of a lot of your jewellery turned into a butterfly logo.

The use of a 'device' should be strongly encouraged for small to medium enterprises as text only logos are instantly forgettable. :)

Logotypes are normally only the preserve of national or global well-established companies where the use of a symbol or icon is deemed unnecessary through years of branding.
