Can anyone explain this about Amazon please?

Strategies of the Serengeti sells mostly through my Serengeti site or at conferences. A few sell via Amazon.co.uk - but nothing huge.

However, at the moment someone seems to be selling a £20-£25-£30 book at £135.

At first I thought it was a mistake and thought nothing of it - but a fortnight later, it's still there.
Am I missing something or is this mere madness? (for madness I do not mean buying my book - I mean offering it for £135 :D ).

Any insight or logic would be appreciated!

I think it is a seller who is hoping that at some stage all the 'normal price' ones will be sold, and that their 'inflated' price is left. If someone comes along and really needs the book, they are hoping they will pay the price and buy it.

I don't think they will have it in stock. Should someone want to pay £100+ for it then they will look river deep mountain high for it, buying it for £25 and then selling it on.

He wants to charge over £100 more than everyone else, and deliver within 2 weeks? :eek:

Probably a droppshipper and if by some fluke someone buys his, he will place an order with someone else who has one.

Probably has a data feed from a large wholesaler linked to Amazon's inventory and orders it as customers orders come in. They put hard to get/deleted titles at silly prices so no one buys them, or if one does they get enough to cover buying it from another seller and still make a profit. As soon as they can get them back in stock the price pluments to normal levels. As soon as no other seller has the item and they can't get it, you'll find it will dissapear from their Amazon listed inventory.
