Any advice on how to stop these.
I am sick and tired of phoning the numbers on these faxes to have them stopped (usually a premium number) and then getting them through from another company.
We must get at least 6 a day.
It is starting to mount up the amount of ink cartridges we are using.
I am not that technically minded, but is it possible to redirect the faxes onto a computer, so I can just delete any I do not want?
Thanks
I use Winfax Pro. All faxes come directly on the computer.. and print only those that I want.
PS: I am not technically minded either:)

I love it that most of these spammy faxes are for companies selling fax ink cartridges.
Your number is on a list, admit defeat and either unplug the fax, or let it run of of paper/ink and use it for outgoing only.

I have a 0870 number already, although faxes usually come in on the normal number. I cannot see this helping.
How does Winfax work, do faxed come through on the normal line number, or do you need a seperate number?

Had the 0870 number for years, hardly use it now, have removed it from all stationary etc. Most clients are happy to use normal telephone number.

an o844 might be good then
Normal tel number works if the program is set up correctly.

There is a Fax Preference Service (http://www.fpsonline.org.uk/fps/) - however, it is probably as "toothless" as the Telephone Preference Service.
Just like spam emails that have the "Unsubscribe by clicking this link" option is just so that people confirm their email address is real, I think most of the "Phone this number to be removed from our lists" is just to get fax numbers that the senders know are "live". They then bombard those and/or sell them on.
I wouldn't bother with phoning them, you're only leaving yourself open to more junk.

We use fps and it seems to be more successful than tps. The no. of junk faxes we receive is zero, as far as I'm aware.
