Hi everyone.
Am new to this site.
Became a self employed holistic therapist recently offering Indian Head Massage, Swedish Massage and Reflexology to companies and private clients.
Having a little difficulty building clientele at the moment and marketing. Seem to be doing lots of searching and having trouble with people saying "YES."
Anyway, am looking forward to using this site and talking to you all.

Hello Tina :D you & I are in the same business.
Yes, it takes a long time to get 'the foot in the door' of corporate clients, perseverance is required. The business I have had has come from my website, although I sent out enough info packs to local companies!
A question - why are you so afraid of treating men outside of business premises? Have you had bad experiences? About 50% of my private clients are men & I've never had any problem! Mind you, I'm an old codger - maybe it depends on what you look like!!
Good luck with it! :)

Hi Tina,
Welcome - I had some great massages while I was travelling around india - including head massages - the strangest was a diggery-doo massage which was pleasant.

I would have thought it was 'foot on the back' Thais
Tina, I hope you find a home here on UKBF :)

Hi Tina,
'Tension Takeaway' is such a good name!
Why don't you get in with the secretaries and maybe offer a free head massage for them or their bosses? Once the secretary knows about it, and when they see their boss stressed, they just might suggest it to them. worth a try. Leave your contact details with them and tell them how soon you can have someone round.
I guess with these things you can't really plan to be stressed at a certain time, so someone might thin of you on spur of the moment.
I don't know what the cost is but you could could offer some introductory prices instead of free ones.
Any welcome to the forums!

Hi Tina
How much 'networking' (for want of a better word) do you do? I know quite a few therapists in our area have found it a good way of meeting people and building a client list. You could also think about partnering with other therapists and working together -- you could then work with more clients at the same time, in an office as Thais mentions. It would also be safer if you were concerned about being alone with male clients.
Best of luck ...
Julie
