Hi Everyone,
Does anybody know of a UK online tool that will tell you how many times a particular keyword has been searched on in google, yahoo, msn etc..
I can find .com tools but they have no result for one of my chosen keywords "personal trainer letchworth".
There must be one, any ideas??
Cheers,
Keir

Hm I've not come across one that gives specific figures.
I ran a quick check and theres quite a few searches for personal trainer so I would advise optimising for something like "Personal trainer, letchworth hertfordshire" and maybe include "Herts" which is probably more what locals would type.
Hope this helps,
Rob

The Overture keyword suggestion tool would be a good place to start - I did a quick search on Google and come up with this one:

There are more elaborate tools available, but this should do for your purposes.

There is no tool that does this for google. For Yahoo and a few other there is a tool that monitors the amount of searches.
You can find it here

There is very little chance that anyone will search for personal "trainer letchworth" I would think they would be more likely to search for personal trainer UK, England or a big population center like London, Birminghamd or Manchester.

Thanks for your help everybody. I know that 3 or 4 people a week come to our website by searching for "personal trainer letchworth" as this info is available on our web stats package.
What I don't know is how many people actually search for that term and don't visit our site. Now that would be useful!!
Thanks once again,
Keir

There is no tool that does this for google.
Actually there is one called WebCEO; the software itself is free and enables you to analyse your web site, look for keywords, compare statistics, etc. the site is www.webceo.com

I've seen webceo and reviewed it in the past and I was not aware that they had access to Googles information on keyword quantities.
Are you sure? Do you have the software yourself?
I'm asking as it would be a useful tool if so.
Cheers,
Rob

I just double-checked in Web CEO's help, what it does is give you the competition for specific keywords on Google, and an estimated number of searches per day from different search engines, combined. Not google, specifically. They're the authority in Web statistics so I suppose you won't get any better results than that.
For example :
personal trainer Letchworth return < 10 daily word searches
personal trainer returns 852 daily word searches, and a competition of 1,560,000 websites.
etc.
It's free so you can always install and experiment... I like it since it gives me a graph of my website's ranking over time, compared to competitors (that you enter yourself).

So basically it takes the amount of searches overtures counts and multiplies it by a number, which as I said means google doesn't have a tool that gives out those sorts of details.
