User Testing (for websites)

Hi,

Anyone out there undertaken user testing for new/rebuilt websites - in other words putting it in front of your target audience and asking them to perform certain tasks and analysing how they use the site?

If so, has anyone employed a company to do this and how much did you/would you be willing to pay?

I've used usertesting.com before - only $19 and you do get some goods reviews across a wide range of demographics. Eyetracking is also very good but expensive.
