Are you fed up of working at home but can't afford a permanent office?

We are opening a new venue in London which will provide free touch-down space and free wireless internet access to all members of UKBF. The new venue will be open in August 2005 and there is no charge for membership.

This is the ideal place where you can hold meetings, have a coffee, and pick up your emails. The venue is well located and is just of Piccadilly and close to Green Park Tube.

How to Register
To apply for your free membership card visit http://www.innovationcentres.co.uk/index.php?cc=1&page=registerform&

Shortly before the opening we will send you by post your membership card together with full details of the centre. In the meantime if you have any questions please telephone 0845 226 1150.

Please also tell a friend. We have a target of registering 2,500 business people before we open the doors.

I look forward to seeing you all there.

can i ask if it is free to us, how is the building being paid for? is it a government initiative?

Yes the venue is free to all members of UK Business Forums.

To answer your question about how is it paid for - the venue generates revenues from private meeting rooms, mailing addresses and hot-desks, but the touch down space, and the wireless internet access, is free to use for all members of UKBF.

You can register for your free membership card at http://www.innovationcentres.co.uk/index.php?cc=1&page=registerform&

Simon

I'm confused about innovation centres - are they not a government thing?

Are they a private enterprise?

They are both, although I believe most are privately/publicly run as apose to authority run.

Yes they are privately run.

I don't believe in government funded business incubators as they are always dependent upon where the next round of grant funding is coming from and they are not sustainable business models. If you are going to create enterprise then you have to practice what you preach.

We do have access to some grants, specifically for undertaking feasibility studies for Investigating an Innovative Idea, but these are grants that are accessed by some of our clients for purchasing our consulting services, rather than supporting our incubation model.

We now have 1150 registered members and many have come from UKBF.

Thanks everyone for your support.

Hi Simon

I registered a couple of weeks ago.

When can I move in?

But seriously though...

Like the idea of your center - can you give us an update of how it is going?

Your idea of a free trial period sounds good, and is a competative advantage - I would definately take you up on it ( not to get a freebie but to have a chance to see how it works with a view to a long term relationship)

Please post a reply asap!
