IOD is a genuine membership organisation. Has HQ off Trafalgar Square. Can be useful for netwoeking and they do run interesting seminars.. Not cheap.

Full of older 'consultant' types. Can be good it that's your thing. Cost is 295 to join and 250 a year I think. Not my thing but I know many who use it.

It's great if you want a central London meeting place as they have very nice member only lounges and also private meeting rooms you can high.

They also have facilities in other towns now too that members can use. It's not cheap but if you do make use of the facilities it can be good value.

We use it in town, predominantly for a meeting place or place to get the head down and work! Very handy.

IOD is probably the oldest professional institute of its kind - as other say it is not cheap though - they run courses for Director level executives that are very highly attended, - I did a board director course several years ago with them that cost £4800.......legislation, rights and roles, finance, marketing, advertising, baic copywriting, HR etc.....

The annual fee is around £250 now, I used to be MIOD, but I am 'lapsed' now!
Very prestigious offices, and I have to say to have MIOD after your name is considered to be a testimony to your business integrity etc :)

I have to say the prestige of it is alone worth the £250 a year.
