Hi there, my software company is now in its 4th year and doing rather well.

We currently have 3 people working for us all from our own home offices, and we have a very good base of repeat custom.
So good in fact that all 3 of us are tied up for another month and a half, and the work still keeps on coming in.

If we turn the work away or say that there is 6 weeks before we can even start the next job then our repeat customers are going to start looking elsewhere and we don't want any competition to get their foot in the door.

For this reason we need to start putting the feelers out for a good DOT NET developer.

We have full MSDN licensing for all Microsoft technologies and our bread and butter work is SQL Server and DOT NET.

We do also get some other challenges that come in for instance: I have just been wrestling with LAMP for one job, and another job even turned out to be reskinning and hacking bits of Joomla and phpbb, so other skills are always handy but to be honest it is Microsoft tools that is the main skill we want.

We go for W3 standards (divs not table layouts)

So I guess I am saying is anyone interested?
You would need to be within an hour of Cambridge really just so it is easy to meet up when we have to, and when we need you on our company go kart evenings heheh.

But yeah, anyone who is looking around for a few freelance jobs then please get in touch (reply here or IM me) and we will get the NDA out of the way and start you off on a couple of low risk contracts to see if you might like the wonderful world of virtual offices, and dictating your own hours (as long as you meet the deadlines I don't care if you want every Monday off).

Oooh dear this sounds like a recruitment agency heheh, but its not, this is a real chance for some high profile contracts (one of my recent jobs is on The One Show tonight).

I'm not fussed on CVs I would prefer examples, a phone chat, and a possible meeting.

Speak to you soon maybe,

Lindsay.

Hi Lindsey

I'm not based near cambridge and don't do Microsoft either so I'm not even sure why I'm typing

however if you need any freelance PHP / LAMP work doing feel free to give me a shout :-)

Where were you a month ago, heheh..

Right now I have just finished one Joomla Job and I have an ongoing LAMP job that I might be up for passing off in a bit so I can get on with my passion (writing games), I am still in the stage of impressing the customer at the moment on that one so dont want to introduce an unknown person just yet until they trust me :)
But I will deffo let you know, if and when I am ready to pass that one off.

If you might be up for some free advice (cheeky arent I) then I moved this ongoing job to a 1and1 virtual server recently (Plesk and Virtuozzo) and I seem to be getting large access_ssl_log and error_log files emailed to me every night (10MB a night), and I am getting stumped on how to secure up LAMP, plus I am nervous on just trying to install things like mod_security, and other bits because I have no clue what it does. I am just getting my head around .htaccess and httpd.conf to be honest.

I have a feeling it is a DDOS attempt but with a small BotNet.
I might be up for paying for a day if you think you are a whizz at understanding who is trying to knacker the site and might be able to secure it up for me.

So how much of a whizz are you at LAMP then? :)

Recently, I needed freelance web-help as well. I found a few active freelance boards on the internet, took the email addresses and wrote to a number of people.

The results surprised me a bit:

No India-based people replied at all, the UK respondents were generally of the "I could possibly fit you in at the end of May"-type.

In the end I went with a developer in Serbia, and am over the moon.

Hi Fuel,

I wish you could take my email address. LOL

Cheers for the tip Fuel.

We have tried overseas outsourcing before with 3D graphics for a Game and it all went a bit skewiff.

That is why I am really hell bent on being just an hours drive away from the person this time so that I know we can both sit at a screen and get more across than we can over skype or google chat etc.

But I am glad you are getting a good deal on it I am sure that there are some good overseas outsourcers out there somewhere heheh.

I will have a scan around the freelance boards as well and put a few posts up.

Thanks again,

Lindsay.

Hi Lindsay -

Not sure if I fit your requirements, but I have a feeling we might be able to work together on some things. Thus, sending you a PM anyway. ;)

Cheers
