Many more companies are expected to go into administration today as a result of the quarterly rent being due today.
Perhaps this explains why some shops went on sale last week - to get some cash together to meet the rent bill.
Difficult when it is the end of the month and people haven't been paid yet - our sales have slumped dramatically this week even though traffic is still up.
Any thoughts?

people are price comparing like never before. I have been keeping track of visits and purchases, and most customers are coming to the site, bookmarking, then coming back later. I have one client that offers online quotes for their products, and you can then purchase them. Most buyers are second time visitors (unfortunately the client is top of google, msn, yahoo, for most of their keywords, so they are the first to quote)
I carried out a comparison excercise on all the quotations we had given which did not result in a sale. I then got our quotation, and ran that through our competitors online quote engines. Armed with this, we adjusted our price and method of delivery, and sales have doubled, and remained at that level since before Christmas.
The comparison was a fair bit of man hours, but thankfully it was uncomplicated work so I could keep the cost down by slicing it up and outsourcing it.
Just to keep the 'what is SEO' debate rolling though, is this the work of an SEO :D

Our landlords invoice far too early for the rent, think it is because noone there has bothered to read our lease (believe they just signed without reading) which is very clear about payment dates of rent, we pay using the dates in the lease and just ignore the date they have on the invoice and there is nothing they can do about it as the signed lease is a contract.

The rent is due on the dates specified in the lease as you rightly say.
The Landlord actually has no legal obligation to issue an invoice at all for rent (different for other charges under the lease) - yours is probably sending a reminder as a gesture of goodwill.

I did not realise that the landlord did not have legal obligation to issue an invoice for rent - because our landlords are VAT registered and have VAT element on the invoice I thought legally this invoice had to be issued.
