Just a quick introduction. I was made redundant at Christmas and have set up a small home business for accounts and payroll.
My name is Maggie and I have worked in accounts for more years than I care to recall.
I have been asked to take over the accounts for a small one-man business. I haven't done this before - only new businesses or working with existing accountant. Can any one help me with the text needed to write to the current accountant? I don't want to get off on the wrong foot, and I think there may be a 'standard' form for doing this.
Thanks and hallo.

Hi Maggie - Welcome :)
Where are you based and do you have a website yet ?
Good to see that you've turned redundancy into an opportunity - thats not the easiest thing to do :)
I'm sure there are many here that will need your help!

I can't seem to get on either - but welcome anyway - am sure a few of the 'techies' on this site can help your site get up and running again!

Is this one-man business a limited company? He is likely to be asking you questions about IR35 and how to 'tick the box' on his P35, if he doesn't perhaps you should bring the matter up with him?

Hi Maggie and welcome.
Like the others I cannot access your website but what the heck.
If you would like to e mail me with some info about yourself and what you are planning on doing I will be able to dig out a few standard letters for you which you will be able to edit to your own use.
Any advice you need on practice matters just ask and I will do my best to help out.

No - he's not limited and won't need IR35. He is a builder - not sub contractor.
Thanks for the input
