Directory submission is good way to build backlinks quickly. Submit the site to popular Web directories like DMOZ, which are free. Social bookmarking is good technique to increase traffic in site.

I have some suggestion:
1) Go on to do the SEO.
2) Pay more attention to do SEM. That's to say, do the keywords promotion
3) Write more ariticles or discuss with each other on the BBS or BLOG to let more people pay attention to your website.

Try to bring quality links by applying varios SEO methods..Make SEO a strategy to market your site and be active on the forums.
Blog comments on dofollow sites are vital..but make sure you are not spamming just to gain PR..
High PR should be your target but don't just rely on that.!

And remember that Google updates the PR only every 2-3 months or so...

It could be argued that making money should be your target and that concern with page rank for its own sake is a waste of time. Targeted directory listings, manual submission to search engines, well-written blogs and articles submitted to relevant sites, good website structure, attention to copy within the site, sensible social networking links plus time and patience will do the trick. And if you don't have time or the knowledge, then employ a professional, such as www.nikkipilkington.com, which incidentally is also a good source of free information.

Pr is not a waste of time as many people increase it so they can sell links
