Using motorsport as a medium I have come up with a very different way of increasing web traffic to participating companies.
The system is called World Enduro Racing and the explaination of how-it-works is linked on the homepage
This new concept is very much in its infancy, however it is performing extremely well and the current participating companies are most certainly seeing the benefit.
I now need to attract more companies to take part, on my website I have an explaination of how-it-works (but it would seem it is not explained well enough, leaving people confused :|) unfortunately clever marketing writing is not my forte, can anyone help ??

A good starting point would be to tell us your website?

Most forums will not allow you to post a website address until you have contributed about 15 posts, I will however try and post my site below,
Site Address is worldenduroracing (dot) com
If the address does not appear the mod will have removed it

So what you are doing is basicaly getting companies to provide back-links?
You charge them £300 to design them a boat image?

Hello TARMAG
Effectively yes, as you can see from the site the participating companies are from very different markets and all of them generate traffic onto the WER site.
This back link traffic has the opportunity of visiting all the other participating companies via numerous links on the WER site. This traffic is additional traffic which they would not of attracted by any other means.
The results page is live, and the scoring, much as it is for fun, immediately gives an indication of how well their website is performing. Hopefully this information will encourage compaines to improve their website performance and promote their brand name.
I still have the problem of wording the how-it-works page without making it confusing.

But, surely i could just spend my £300 on better SEO or advertising elsewhare.
Rather to pay you to make a picture of a boat......
I like the concept, fun trying to compete, but in this day and age, who has time to compete? I would understand the concept if it was free, you get a free boat image, and perhaps eventualy when your numbers pick up, you could sell advertising space on every boat, or something like that.
But in the current market, £300, for a website thats new, not got huge numbers, its whither or not it will stay afloat or not.

£300 (which is in fact £250) - spent to join WER effectively is a 24/7 worldwide advert, aimed at 10's of millions of motorsport enthusiasts.
The boat amounts to a worldwide billboard, although presitigiously packaged.... The site itself is also promoted through various publications, again worldwide in the form of editorials
I have calculated that a local newspaper ad "text only" will cost just over £1,000 for a year, which is good if you are for instance a local decorator, but if you are aiming to expose your company worldwide I think WER has much more to offer.
I have still got the problem of re wording how-it-works as not to be confusing.:|
I very much appreciate your input

I have replied on your PM and I am very sure you will be able to help with my issue in explaining the benefits of WER in a clear and precise manner.

I think at last I have come up with good wordings - please any comments welcome.
World Enduro Racing
“BRAND” new marketing concept which provides worldwide brand awareness.
Using the appearance and pretext of powerboat racing, WER provides businesses with a prestigious image to promote their services and products to a worldwide market. Thus creating unrivalled brand awareness.
Using the strategy that retail park Superstores adopted, which has become the best product outlet method to date. WER outwardly appears as a prestigious F1 Powerboat racing site, it is however, a World Wide Web business superstore, where your company becomes a department within the store, now your brand is exposed to all the visitors to WER and not just to the visitors your department attracts. The departments are varied and limitless from a Specialist Electronics Company to Stationary Suppliers and CAD Design Service to Marine Online Communications Experts, all are benefiting from this unique system.
In web terms, a company website equates to a shop in the high street, WER invites you to be a part of, what is effectively, a Superstore. It’s your decision whether your product is best placed with a Superstore or a high street shop, now ask yourself, which one has the customer numbers.

I'm playing devils advocate here but are you selling a link for £300 per year?
Seems very steep to me.
What exactly do you get for your annual subscription?
It's still not clear enough I'm afraid and if it isn't clear, it isn't going to work.

Yep I've just had a look and it isn't clear enough. You're explaining a lot of features (and some benefits) but you're not actually explaining what gives the customer these features and benefits.
It also needs to SELL your service. It isn't benefit driven enough and the copy won't give the visitors the urge to buy what you are selling. Needs a re-write.

This is precisely the problem we are finding, the system is very simple and it works, this is borne out by the website analytic, unfortuneately explaining it is rather more difficult.
For their money they get
A fully branded F1 race boat which competes on the world enduro race site. (Images of which they can also use for their own advertising campaigns, promotions etc) At the moment the site is averaging 5000 hits daily, and as more companies join this figure can only increase.
An increase of web traffic to their own website from WER, some companies are experiencing as much a 30% increase.
An unique network opportunity.
Unrestricted use of the WER news section for promotions, articles, special offers etc.
Their own advertising area on the WER site to promote their company and its services.
24/7 worldwide exposure for 12 months and all for £250.
Compare this with a local newspaper advert 5cm x2cm text only which comes out at over £1000 for a 12 month advert.
WER also regularly promotes the site via various magazines.
This is an example of how one company is using WER to their benefit

If you feel you can explain the system more effectively I am more than happy to listen :)

The "How - it - works" page on the site is what we are going to replace. Hopefully with the words on my previous post, are you saying that we need to re-write “BRAND” new marketing concept which provides worldwide brand awareness.
