Could someone check if my site loads ok I'v been experimenting with new ideas but having fast technology means I cant check it myself for loading speed and so on.

Cheers

It loads fine on my system but I'm on a 2Mb Download si I'm unsure about speed.

Incidently I use firefox and theres a plugin needed for firefox to display something in the top right of the screen.

This is ok and most firefox users are used to this except my system can't locate the right plugin to install.

It is an avi animation what would be more universal as their avi animations on my animation folio page too.

200+ k just for the banner? :) That's over 30 seconds for someone on 56k.

The main content loaded quickly, but the thing on the top right (sure there is a technical name for it  ) showed as a plain black rectangle and loaded slowly.

Ooops meant to mention that I had a 3inch column of white space down the right hand side, though this may by intentional?

Did the black thing load into something?

Yep a moving graphic, but it only moved once and I don't think it was worth the wait.

Just my opinion though, as I am impatient and hate waiting for sites to load.

Flashy moving stuff always make websites slow in my opinion.

save the banner as a jpg with 60% quality and you can hardly tell the difference, plus you save yourself 170k :)

It didnt look as good as a jpeg theirs a diference when the image has started out at perfect quality.

Well of course it wouldn't look as good if it was 170k less. If you were using the right compression settings I am sure you would be able to find a combination that made the banner look perfectly acceptable but have a smaller file size.

Managed to scale the image and animation size down I will leave it as it is now just need to perfect the animation page.

thanks everyone for the help.
