Hi All
My company is just about to launch, it will be operating primarily via mail order. Which means i ideally need to accept credit card payments.
I have heard of Streamline etc but they all seem to be a little expensive. i have asked other businesses whom they use. Some use the above mentioned, others use Barclaycard, or even Ingenico (as in the case of Sainsburys)
Can anyone recommend a company that can be used?

any advise greatfully recieved

Best Wishes

Alastair

PayPal

Eagle I don't think Paypal allows you to process customer orders on behalf or the customers - unless somethings changed?

I use WorldPay and they have a facility to allow you to process payments on behalf of the customer, rather than them doing it online. You would be able to upgrade to take online payments later if that is the direction your business is going in.

Might be worth checking it out. They are very efficient and I haven't had any problems with them at all.

Barclaycard Merchant Services offer EPD Lite, which is an on-line processing system, quick and cheap. It can also be upgraded to offer full e-commerce integration to your own site at a later date.

We use streamline and have no problems with it.

I would go for www.protx.com they charge a flat rate monthly fee and you wont get billed charges for reciving payments like paypal does. It looks professional and is secure.

We use protx in conjunction with streamline. It works well and is integrated into your own site. People do not get diverted to a payment screen.

Protx (£23.50 per month) and Romancart (Free, or £40.00 per year if using credit/debit cards)

Pilfo, your slogan does make me smile

Anyway, back on topic. To be honest, it doesn't matter what payment solution you use as you can quite easily setup a basic web form to integrate into the payment provider to take telephone orders.
