Hi All
My name is Alastair, and i have recently started up a company selling Computer Training. After having worked in the industry for several, facing redundancy for the third time. I was getting quite ill, my partner suggested i leave, i did.
I decided to start up my own company. It was an idea i had for sometime, and have been building it now since last january!!!
I can tell you its lonely there, few people to talk to. sleepness nights, but at the same time plenty of enthusiasm, excitement, and above all pride.
I am still looking for a full time job while my company (which launches next month) gets off the ground.
I have many questions to ask, many fears, please help, trust me i am no Sir Alan Sugar, but one day i would like to be lol
Looking forward to meeting you all
Alastair

Hello Alastair :D
Good luck with your new venture. However, I would suggest that you check your website for spelling mistakes - yes I know they are probably typos, but they're there all the same! Also - if you don't like the photo you've posted there - take another one!! :o I don't think saying how horrible it is can be very good for your image! Speaks more about how you feel about yourself! There's nothing wrong with it, by the way.
Chin up, mate! :)

Welcome, and well done on making a start.
Regarding the photo - I actually went to a local photographer and had mine taken - vain aren't I? But it has been a useful thing to give to papers and magazines when doing PR. I don't take a good photo and I didn't trust the guys here to make me look good but a photographer knows all the tricks to reduce one's blemishes (sadly they can't all be removed)
I like the upbeat chatty style of your site- it is welcoming and should strike a cord with people new to computing.
A word to the wise, Comic Sans Serif is so 1999 (we used to use it then). I think just changing your font to something else would work wonders to the over all look. Comic sans serif just has a very amateurish feel.

Hehe...photos! On the odd occasion that I need one, I use the posh one that was taken by a professional photographer who came & took pics of me for a magazine article about 18 months ago! :P I always cringe when I see myself in a photo - but at least this one makes me look human!! :P Gawd - aren't we vain??
