Hi,
For my business I want to be able to use a VOIP system. I signed up with Skype for a monthly plan (all UK landline calls free and free Skype In number for £2.99 p/month) however one of the features I really need is Call Forwarding.
I want to be able to forward calls to my mobile when out of the office. Skype does have call forwarding but there is a huge lag (about 15 rings) from when the caller gets the ringing tone till my mobile phone starts ringing. This is far too long and most callers will have hung up by then.
Therefore I need to look for another solution. Who else uses VOIP services and can recommend one with call forwarding where there is not a big lag time? Anybody use Vonage?
Maybe even ideas on how I can go about this differently?
Thanks,
Darrell

That's Post Sending Delay (PSD). Some slight PSD is inevitable when calling a mobile but 15 rings is silly - most services won't send ringing tone until they have it from the mobile network but it sounds like Skype do. Try ours:

Hi - Thanks for the response CJD - i thought it was excessive aswell. Do you offer inclusive plans like Skype (all UK landline calls at £2.99 p/month)?
Anybody else experience the same problem with Skype? I've raised a support ticket but can't see much changing.

I've used CJD's services for over 2 years now - after getting a recommendation on this forum - including call forwarding.
Great service and support - 100% recommended.

We use voiptalk, and don't seem to be saving any money at present. It will be more cost-effective when we use the full number of lines offered.
One recommendation - don't go for the "home" package and hope that it will be ok for business - you'll have missed calls, which can prove very costly.

We don't do 'unlimited' packages because they aren't unlimimited.
We do packages of minutes for heavy users (500, 100 & 2000) but most people just use pay go minutes. 1p per minute to a landline and 12p to mobiles.

Darrell - if you PM me your Skype name, I'll be able to do a bit of investigating.
