Afternoon all,

We have quite an unmemorable web address www.juice-pt.co.uk so we've just bought www.juicebody.co.uk as we feel this is better.

At the moment "juicebody" just points to "juice-pt" (which has a PR1 on google) but we would like to build links and the PR of the "juicebody" domain and eventually lose the "juice-pt" domain.

Confused?!

So my question is... how do we do that?

Thanks,

Keir

As you have a PR of 1 on your old (or soon to be) site

You could just move the site, add a link from the old site to the new one, most PR will be transfered.

I would not advise doing this if you have a high PR site.

If you have any other links that you can change or get changed, then you should do it.

Yes losing a PR of 1 isn't the worst thing that can happen.

Thanks for the advice guys...

Just to make sure I've got it - you're saying that we should move the old site to the new site and have a link from the old to the new?

We're currently 5th on google (in our area) for one of our keywords and we get a few enquiries this way. I assume we'll drop down the rankings for a while?

Anything else to watch out for?

Thanks once again,

Keir

Try having a search on Google for some Search Engine Friendly page redirection scripts.

I would also contact all people that link to your old domain name site and request they update their links to the new one.
