Here's were I charm you lol, I'm not being insulting, but people on this forum are no Alan Sugar and don't own millions, anyway that's not the point I have just created a brand new advertising site based on SEO, basically what I do is create you a special page that hopefully, you'll be going up in the world on Google. Lol
It's cheap as its has to be with the recession.
Anyway the sites virtualworld.viebo.co.uk

Hmm not the greatest advert for a site. is this just a very expensive pixel based site? We have had thousands of those over the years they seem to have died out but never £120 per year and never so late and never without a decent url and never so late...i have seen at least three based on cities. is this an old one or a new one?

I just dont see what you get for the money. there were hundreds of these sites 3 years ago based on cities, countries, animals, train maps, etc etc. What is it that will bring anyone to the site? It is not exactly a memorable name.
what does it look like when someone buys one?

Right Mr Money Man,
Its meant really for those companies, who are struggerling and can't fin there feet on Google, or are even second page on google and need help to get to the top, because I'm a SEO expert and SEO is very complicated, so basically you buy a city and you get your own page talking about the company and then you get the keywords, that I do research on and have a look at things that i'm not gonna tell you what cause thats part of the secreat, bit like this http://www.virtualworld.viebo.co.uk/silverfrost.html
and i no it has no Keywords in, its just a example
and people dont really come to my site they go to that page

Right what would you get, I think I might make a about us Page after this lol, You basically get 4 periods of time you can purchase 3Month 6 Month 9 Month 12 Month
After you have purchased a city, I will look at your site see whats its all about, and I make you a page, with Keywords i think will climb the ladder on Google, and I will be doing research in your main competitors and people who are at the top of page 1, You can add what you want to add in the page, or if you don't you can just let me do all the writing.

What next? What sorts of results will I see?
jackchafer
13th March 2009, 10:31
I wouldn't purchase for three Months, because one big things about SEO, for all websites, it will always take about 4-6 Months to get anyware, ask people about it, its not me trying to make more money, its just basic SEO lol, 3 Months may do it , I would say if your not sure about my site do it for 6 months.
What happens?
Well hopefully, you will get a tone more visitors, and they may buy your services they may not, thats just up to them, Your results will go up i no that for sure

It's not all over yet - I'm curiously impressed you managed to learn SEO in detail offline. How did you manage this?
And one last question - the URL "virtualworld.viebo.co.uk", what's the story behind that? Do you own Viebo?
shaunb
13th March 2009, 10:45
If you have just advised someone not to be 3 months because basically it is useless. Then why do you sell 3 months? If it is pointless, startyour pricing at 6 months.
To be honest i can not see this holding any weight with Google, and improving ranking. What is the difference between this and the thousands upon thousands of other paid directories? Apart from the fact that other more popular ones might actually help rankings?
By the way, the site is pretty badly designed as well, IMO.

Sorry Jack I'm not convinced either. I need to know more about your experience before parting with my cash.
If you don't mind me saying I'd guess that you're pretty young, and not with a wealth of expertise about the internet.
BUT I do admire your passion. Every so often there are a lot of forum youngsters on here passing off cheap websites on subdomains offering the world for nothing. We're talking about youngsters that are sitting in dreaming of running their own show, putting time into projects like this instead of out up to no good.
I'd say stick at it, you've got a whole lot to learn. The facts and ways of business are a lot easier to learn than possessing the passion to do it in the first place.

I have just looked on the silverfrost page, and to be honest, it is utter rubbish.
The english is terrible:
The owner has created two pieces of very good but if not knowing what you are doing complicated complicated pieces of software.
What?
I think my girlfriend who hasnt a clue about computers could take a 5 minute look at thier real site and come up with a better description. Did you give them this page for free, or have they not seen the page, because i dont think they would be too impressed to be honest!
Plus, the only link back to thier site, which is what would help thier rankings improve as your pages content certainly wont, is a picture link. I am sure a text link with quality keywords would be a lot better than this!
Anyone can read a few articles and blog posts about SEO, it does not make you an expert unfortunatley.

Calm down pal! lol
To be honest, someone who is an SEO director, earning £100k a year would have the sense to get his own domain, and not borrow his mates, and to have a web designer create even a half decent page!
Why do you want to set up a site that would struggle to pay you minimum wage even if you got quite a few people in, when you say your earning so much money.
To be honest you dont sound that old, i know i cant say much, im only 20, but stop been so immature, were giving you critisism which you should be using to improve your site.

Doctors are just doctors
The logo boys such as eagle are just branding consultants.

years of plying our trades and getting qualifications.

Come on, give him a break!
The terms and conditions aren't actually just a screen shot. The background is an image of notepad, but the text is actually on the page, not in the image. Next time, get the facts before you jump in with both feet!
There is a serious problem on this forum (particularly on a Friday afternoon) where a group of established forum members pounce on a new member with all sorts of insults about their business model/ web site.
Fair enough, he does make some contradicting statements, might not seem to have the best grammar or spelling, but it doesn't justify this sort of behaviour.

how about when he's charging £40...or £120..or whatever it is to be on his website though?? should he not be set on fire for this as he cannot possibly be an SEO 'EXPERT' 'GURU' 'GOD' 'PRINCE' or whatever if his grammar is at the level of a job seeking moose.

David,
whilst I agree there can be a grouping up tendency I don't see it happening without due cause here.
The OP comes on with a really crappy offer, backed by a severely challenged website. He gets criticised, quite harshly and quite rightly so, for they are appalling. Instead of taking his lumps he resorts to making incredible and incredibly stupid statements, despite a few gentle hints that he might not want to do so.
This means he has become sport. It's his choice as much as anyone else's choice, and altho' the sport might be sad, small minded and snide, it can also be amusing: like it or not, if someone comes along and takes the piss out of your intelligence and experience, giving the toad a cyber clip around the ear offers a modicum of satisfaction.
If, if, he has any sense he will now retire to consider what has been said and act upon it. One good thing about this forum is that if someone, usually a stroppy kid, puts his hands up after an episode like this, offers of help do come in from the same group that are ragging him now.
And he won't do better than that out in the 'real' world if he behaves there like he has here.

I agree that the offer is certainly not the best. I, for one, know my money isn't on the table. However there is no need for everyone to rip his offer to shreds - even if his prices were inflated above their actual value, or that he claims things that are clearly not true.
If you don't feed the trolls, then they will go away. If you continue to critique their every post, then they are sure to come back with an even-more blindingly untrue statement. So why does everyone continue feeding them?
