My website is powered by cubecart. I was looking into getting SEO on site but was advised to concentrate on site to try and get conversion rate higher. I have also been advised that cubecart v3 is not optimisable. Does anyone have any advice/experience on use of cubecart? Would I best to stop using cubecart all together? thanks in advance

I have never used Cubcart myself ( I use osCommerce myself), but if you're question is to do with SEO, then the only customisable aspects of your site you should really be concerned with is the <title> and <description> tags. If you can get to those, then you're OK.

My advice is to set those tags, get the content of your site relevant to your product range, and include relevant keywords wherever possible in your content (but don't overdo it). Once you've done that, forget about the site and work on building quality inbound links to your site.

You can have the best SEO optimised site in the world, but without the quality links, you're site will get nowhere.

Hope this helps

If you can adjust the titles/descriptions/content then you should be ok. If you can't with Cubecart, which I can't believe...not that I have used this cart. :) Then you should be ok.

But even with the best seo/sem/tweaking content/title/description, if your design is turning people off then you are not going to make the sales ranked number one or not!! So make sure you site is easy to use, good on the eye, not comlicated in the actual purchading of your products.

Our store is a Cubecart v3 Store and can be VERY seo friendly.

We are running this mod:
http://www.rukispot.com/cube-cart-cc3-seo-mod-search-engine-friendly-urls-custom-urls-meta-tags-robotstxt-php-session-killer/

Well infact most sites using cubecart use this. It Gives you SEO Friendly Urls and allows you to change the Meta Data for each page seperatly.

If you need more info please feel free to contact me :)

How about upgrading to CubeCart v4?

Price isn't bad.

we use cube cart & after using quite a few others we find its the best one so far and pretty good with search engines

I would suggest updating to v4 as its supposed to be far better for SEO

On the cube cart forums is a great lady "Estelle" who updated ours from 4 to 4.3. I would suggest talking to her and her prices are pretty reasonable

There area also plenty of ppl who can help with SEO over there too
