Miss MoneyPenny returns – virtually!

Self-employment has been gradually growing in the UK over the last twenty years and noticeably since 2001 (Office of National Statistics). In the 1960’s, big companies employed a raft of their very own Miss MoneyPennies to tend to the administrative needs of their employees.
In 2005, those employees have set up their own small companies with the need for office help but no money to pay for a full time Miss MoneyPenny of their own. The internet has revolutionised the way business is carried out and has provided the solution to the Miss MoneyPenny problem - the Virtual Assistant.

VA’s work from their own offices, providing a range of secretarial and administrative support services to businesses that don’t need or can’t afford a full time post.

Anne Donnelly is a former Contractor specializing in Customer Services & Learning and Development with PA experience in the corporate environment. In 2001, she decided she wanted to offer a complete virtual office solution to small businesses struggling with administrative tasks. In 2005, Freelance Office Services & Virtual Assistance was born.

“I wanted to set up a service which would save companies the time and effort of hiring a full time person, which in turn saves on costs such as holiday pay, sick pay, pensions, training costs and office space,” explains Anne.

The Virtual Assistant is a unique solution to the problem of employing someone full time. It is cost effective, global and available 24/7, 365 days a year. It is already a big hit in the US and is set to change the way we work in the UK.

“It frees up their time for the really vital business tasks while we can do the things they don’t have time for or can’t do themselves,” says Anne

The flexibility offered by the service benefits Anne as well as her clients, she is able to set her own hours and work remotely via the internet with her global team of virtual assistants and IT consultants. It is such a growing profession that there is now an International Association of Virtual Assistants.

As self-employment continues to increase and the internet plays a bigger part in our lives it looks as though Miss MoneyPenny is here to stay – virtually.

Hi,

No there is no connection, although it's easy to understand why you'd think that as a couple of people have pointed it out.

On a different note, I shall be appearing on ITV's animal roadshow at the end of this month with my dog Scooby, so watch out for me!!

Anne
