A walk in sales agent came to the store and signed us up got XLN 18 months ago, moved both lines and been happy with service and pricing ever since.

Same agent came into store 4 weeks ago and advised me that XLN & Tiscali had merged and i should move on to Tiscali Line and take advantage of the combined broadband and line for £15 per month.
I was on BT Broadband £25 per month.

Last Monday XLN cut our line and Tiscali took it over.

I was on holiday that week, they sent the router and passwords out by post same day, took 3 days to arrive.

I was going frantic, they wouldnt speak to anyone from company except me, i had no mobile signal and landline wont let you dial British 08 numbers, sent emails but no help.

Got Broadband back up Thursday, came home Friday and spoke to Tiscali, they advised that the agent had signed me to a residential package not available to businesses, and prepared to close my account.

XLN want £135 to transfer my line from Tiscali back to BT, i dont really want to stay with Tiscali, i only changed as i was told they were the same company, Agent lied but is now unobtainable, Tiscali dont seem to know how she is and say they dont have Sales Agents.

Any Ideas

Im surprised at that with you being with them for 18 months though as it was a sales person "working" with there products. £135 is a joke!

Dear Leslie,

I hate to state the obvious but sales agents are just in it for the deal only. If they need to focus on the easy points without telling you the whole story then they will. £135 really is a joke and it's based on their own terms and conditions therefore and unfortunately it is up to them to charge you whatever. For future reference if you put a company name into the Google search bar and then followed by complaints, this is a great indication of whether you should deal with that company. Also check out thisismoney website, they give you the top 10 telecoms suppliers to avoid. My advice is move away from both of them as they don't seem to be forth coming with support nor be able to offer the right service for you. Sorry I can't help more and it's a real shame this sort of thing is still happening. kind regards,
Mike
