I am looking for a inexpensive way of setting up e-commerce unto my website.I have a shop so it package need to have a good stock management system.I have IT phobia so require fool-proof system.Any advise greatly appreciated.

xcart costs, so your 'inexpensive' requirment is already blown.
Have a look at testacart.com for several 'free' options of carts, some of which may be considered more powerful than xcart

X-Cart is very powerfull, but with all the mods and custom work i have had done, must be well over 3k by now.

CubeCart is free, and is a very reasonable solution. The paid-for version is even better. If you install the free, once your shop has been shown to be viable, you can easily upgrade to the paid version.
