I wonder if anyone can help?

I am trying to set up my new website using Actinic Catalog, which is proving to be a steep learning curve! I have been reading about the importance of reciprocal linking, so purchased some software called Arelis, which looks good for this purpose, however, I can't work out how to set it up within my Actinic catalogue.

Has anyone got experience with this and wouldn't mind offering a few pearls of wisdom? I would be very grateful. :)

My experience of receiving untargeted link exchange spam from sites with no page rank is to bin it straight off.

My links page has a PR of 5 and I'm not giving that away to just anybody - however you may harvest a lot of 0 pr link exchanges from people who will link with anyone.

However, real link exchange is important and worth doing the proper leg work yourself.

I agree. I haven't used the Arelis software yet, but my understanding was that it just worked as a database, so that I would still have to search for possible reciprocal links, but then the software would send a message and keep a record as to who replied or not. Just to make it easier to manage.

I read somewhere that it was better to have lots of links with sites that probably had a low rank, but definitely contained quality data that was relevant to your visitors than to try to get irrelevant highly ranked sites to link - is this true?

Probably worth asking the question over at http://community.actinic.com/ if you haven't done already.
