When I enter a receipt in KashFlow I am given a number starting with KF0001 ETC ETC ETC.

I've recently dismissed an employee and I've noticed that they have entered some invoices incorrectly in KashFlow. I deleted the invoices and started again. However, the problem that I now have is that some invoices numbers are missing... Will this cause me any problems?

Thanks

I would have thought your first port of call would be to the help desk at Kashflow? Not on a forum.

It possibly could. It depends on whether Kashflow keeps and audit trail of the deleted Invoices. If it does thats fine as you can show very similar Invoices replacing the deleted ones.

Ideally you should never delete transactions out of an accounting system. Its far better to leave the audit trail intact. In your case it would have been far better to create credit notes for the incorrect invoices with a note on each one explaining the reason they were credited with a reference to the replacement invoice. I notice Kashflow dosent have credit notes however.

This way if HMRC have any questions on an inspection you can cleary show what has happend.

Why would you bother? It clearly makes sense - KashFlow are not open until Monday - other forum users use KashFlow...... :D

Ok it does. It would be nice to be able to select an invoice and create a credit note from it however. Rather than adding a negative invoice.

Well for starters -it's your business, would have thought you would want to keep your business issues private, obviously you have no issue with broadcasting issues which could have been cleared up privately and without issue towards Kashflow itself. As Duane has pointed out it's email help is 24/7, not seen if its published on the website (that's another matter).

Looks to me as if there is information on Kashflow it's users are not taking full advantage of.
