Amazon.co.uk has some good information regarding VAT if you buy something from Amazon, however I am slightly confused regarding the VAT situation if you are selling an item via amazon.co.uk. Does the VAT follow the same principles that Amazon use if they were selling their own item - ie the customer will be charged VAT according to the country that you reside in. Or will the VAT depend on whether a, I the seller am registered for VAT and b, whether I have reached the threshholds for distance selling in the countries that I am selling to?
If the answer is the latter option (ie it depends on my status as the seller) - how does the website calculate the VAT accurately? Has anyone had experience in this?
