Hello,
Does anybody here know if a newly incorporated company currently doing a voluntary VAT registration will be able to claim back VAT on expenses incurred a few months ago especially Company Formation expenses? I seem to think there may be special rules or something for Company Formation Expenses.
Thanks!
Rebecca

In general you can claim back VAT on expenses incurred up to 6 months before you register. That should include VAT on company formation costs, but depending on how the registration agent works you may find that only some of the costs have VAT on them. But the invoice will show that.

Yes you will be able to reclaim the vat on services up to 6 months provided those services still relevant which the formation expenses would be.
