hi, BMS :-)
i know Win-Organizer, C-Organizer, AVS-organizer... even MS Outlook seems to be a powerfull organizer. find in google for example and first use free version - it must exist. then u'll choose what is best for yourself...

If you have the technical abailities I would recommend Open Xchange - links in with Outlook and has a web interface. Its basically MS Outlook with a web interface.

Hi all
Outllook seems to be the best for me as a diary, is syncs well with my PDA.

Have you tried Lotus Organiser, its like a software version to the old filofax

Good Luck

I use Outlook and you are able to set reminders for diary dates and tasks. I have heard that Yahoo do an online diary which is also good, although I have never used it myself.

Alternatively you could consider hiring someone to manage your diary - I am a Virtual Assistant who offers that sort of service. If you would like more information, please PM me or email me.

I'm afraid I'm old fashioned and just have a diary!

It means I have written notes on every day for the last 5 years or so.

i am also a major Outlook fan but for some reason it tend to use a normal diary as well. dont ask me why, there is something reassuring about using a pen and paper i think!!!

Well yes there is something great about paper and ink, it goes everywhere with you. Does not suffer from viruses, does not crash, and you don't need to back it up.
But it is harder to make a backup, and if you lose it ur buggered, unless you have either a duplicate, or a bloody good memory!!!

But then i am a computer junkie :)

Outlook has to be the benchmark for Calender software, and it also has a Web based version.

You could try http://www.openoffice.org/ from Sun Microsystems, it is a very good alternative with many of the features that Outlook offers, but the good thing is that it is FREE.

I personally use a Palm PDA and I sync with Outlook so I always have my diary on the go - it comes shipped with Palm desktop too in case you don't have Outlook. You can get an older Palm for really really cheap, have a look on Ebay or Amazon!

indeed
My wife bought me the tungsten T3, a bit clumsy for tapping in appointments with the stylus. it is also hard to separate business from personal contacts, but it does synchonise well with Outlook.

One point mind you people, do not let the juice go on it, or yo loose the lot!!! An incar charger can be puchased for it though.

The apart from the clumsyness of use, its just extra stuff to carry around really, you know along with the sunglasses, and mobile phone etc. But i thnk in time they will merge. NOT with the sunglasses i hasten to add!!!

Hence you look the pratt wearing a jacket in weather like this just so you have the pockets.

In fact i am talking in the business forum. Here is a business idea for someone, design a handbag for blokes!!!

A few thoughs

They fixed it with the T5, it doesn't lose its memory anymore :)

When my dad bought his first one of those, my sister and I called it his "ducky bag" but he's still using one 15 years or so on.

Men seem to be squeamish about carrying bags in the UK even though they are happy to do so when abroad on vacation.

I have been using such a bag for over 25 years as I found them a godsend for carrying a couple of packets of cigarettes, lighter, keys, wallet, cheque book and other sundry items. It used to amuse me that blokes would buy a new suit and spend ages admiring themselves in a mirror to make sure that it fitted perfectly yet as soon as they bought it they would cram all of the pockets full of stuff so that they resembled a hamster with full cheek pouches.

I had no problems living and working in Surry & Sussex but in the mid eighties I relocated to Tyneside as FD of a manufacturing company in one of the very working class areas of Newcastle.

To my amusement the factory manager took me aside one day and told me that I shouldn't carry my bag in Newcastle as it was considered to be effeminate. Like most Geordie's this chap would do anything to preserve his macho image and the fact that he sported both permed hair and an earring was irrelevant in his eyes as that was fashionable.

Annoyingly, some 25 years later this very sensible idea still hasn't caught on yet more and more men no longer wear suits so need somewhere else to stuff all of their bits & pieces and decent bags for men are even harder to find now.
