I have a very simple income statement to fill subject form, but I am not 100% sure where to put figures in Return. It will be really helpfull if you can mention Box No. from return.

Income

Other Income (Interest Earned) 765

Expenditure

Professional Fee 150
Bank Charges 100
Other Expenses(Exchange Rate Loss) 1216

Deficit of income over Expenditure (701)

If you need any further clarification, please ask and I will reply streight.

Are you doing this for a client?

In which case you are well out of your depth here.

IMO you should pass this onto someone who is properly qualified to prepare CT600s.

I think the honest answer from most accountants would be "I don't know, the software puts it in the right boxes for me"

I'm sure this is relevant, so I will go ahead:

as well as 'going in the right boxes' the figures need to be treated correctly in the tax calculation

our corporation tax software will do the tax computation and CT600 return for you, for v low price, including putting everything in right boxes

please see finansol.co.uk

Very little detail required in the short CT600 tax return which would seem applicable in view of the numbers quoted.

As a very general guide
Box 1 sales turnover
Box 5 net profit or zero if loss
Box 21 net profit after other entries e.g bank interest in box 6

If loss corporation tax boxes probably all zeros

The DIY Accounting company accounts package fills in the CT600 boxes for you

HMRC's online filing software is free and there are headings to choose from when entering your figures. It's a bit less intimidating the paper forms and there is validation and you get to review it before submission.

If you using some software for day to day bookkeeping you should be able to transfer figures from your Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss to HMRC's online filing system.
DIY Accounting's generated forms can either be printed and submitted by post or transfered to HMRC's online filing software. (other software is available)

Sorry just noticed that the person posting on this login isn't Terry, who hadn't been on here for a year.

Do I deduce bad news from the signature

Yes I believe that Terry passed away last year after an illness. I think his son is running the business now.

Yes, we are keeping the business running. primarily it's Antony (product updates and queries) and Samantha (customer service). We've been focusing on stabilising the business so far. In the future we'll be looking to streamline the sales and support process before continuing to expand the range.

Good luck with the business.
